Savings Account

When you join Lakeshore Federal Credit Union, you do so by opening a regular share account with a minimum of $5.00. This amount must remain in your account to be eligible for other services such as loans, Visa cards and more.

The credit union offers a variety of savings to suit your needs. All savings accounts earn dividends which are paid quarterly back into the account they are earned on.

Regular Shares

This is your primary savings account at the credit union. You may be entitled to have other services now that you have this account. Your regular shares may also be used for overdraft transfers to your checking and can be used as security on a loan.

Low Balance and Inactive Account Fees:

The following share accounts will have a fee of $5.00 per month imposed:

  • Accounts with a balance less than $100; or

  • No activity within the last 12 months; or

  • No other accounts held at the credit union on that account number, such as a CD or loan.

Children's accounts (18 years and under) and share accounts opened for joint loan applicants are exempt.
